Incredible Cruelty, Tragic Results

I’ve been reading here and there about cyberbullying,
and I came across the case of a girl who, like so many
others, was cyberbullied to the point where she hanged
herself just a few weeks before her 14th birthday.

It was later discovered that she’d been bullied by several
people using the same fake name, people who knew her
personally. One of them was a grown woman in her 40s
who lived nearby.

A grown woman.

A little girl dead because an adult sent her devastatingly cruel messages.

I vividly wonder if that woman has ever felt any remorse.

And what’s really scary…make that horrifying…is that there are still many
children and teenagers being bullied online, sometimes by other kids, and
sometimes by adults.

In fact, even as I type this, there probably are children and teenagers who are reading hurtful online messages. And perhaps right now (I vividly hope NOT!) one or more of them are taking their own lives because of that bullying.

  1. The girl (poor child!) killed herself in 2006.
The woman (who does not deserve to be called a woman) was convicted in 2009, but a judge overturned her conviction. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
