She Couldn’t Say A Word

I’m using four prompts, including one from my other blog, in this post.

She couldn’t say a word. She was too angry, too embarrassed, too humiliated to speak as he enumerated her faults and mistakes in front of their friends.

As he ticked them off on his fingers in a way that she found particularly infuriating, she began to awaken to the fact that shaming her filled him with elation.

She recovered her voice and told him in no uncertain terms to relocate to a much hotter climate.
