Every Friday evening on his way home from work, Stan would stop at the florist
and buy a red rose, a pink rose, and a yellow rose in a crystal vase for his wife, Emily.
This custom had never grown stale, in spite of the fact that it had been going on for fifteen years.
One Friday, a detour sign led Stan onto a rough, hilly road, where he got a flat tire.
He arrived home a little late with the roses, and with an extra gift of
fresh tangerines, Emily’s favorite citrus fruit, to make up for the delay.
Sweet!
