though friendly, debate over a popular writer’s latest novel. Several felt that it
lacked her usual pizazz, while others called it her most scintillating work.
During this discussion, Clara Bentley mistakenly put salt into her coffee,
earning, inevitably and irrevocably, the nickname “Mrs. Peterkin.”
