Summary:

My take on a familiar saying.

Written using this prompt, slightly cut to fit the story:

Life had always been an adventure for Jules, …

Once there was a country whose inhabitants had been blind for centuries, and who had never heard of sight.
They knew the song of a robin, the scent of a rose, the taste of a strawberry, the hardness of a stone.
But colors were beyond their comprehension.

One day a one-eyed man named Jules arrived there. Life had always been an adventure for Jules. The loss of an eye hadn’t changed that.
One of his favorite sayings was, “In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.”

So he told the people about colors.

They locked him up.
