“Hey! Just a minute now! We take the time to visit her blog, and she insults us?”
Was that your reaction when you saw the heading for this post? I’ll admit that it well may have been mine if somebody else had written it. I hate it when someone says, “Boy, are you ignorant!” in the derogatory way that really means, “Boy, are you stupid for not knowing that!”
But I’m don’t mean “You are ignorant” in that way.
After all, aren’t you, and I, and all of us, ignorant about some things? Do any of us know everything there is to know? Don’t all of us, at some time, miss hearing about something all (or at least most) of our friends, relatives, and acquaintances know about?
To give just one example, I don’t know how to read, speak, or write Japanese, which means that I am ignorant when it comes to the Japanese language.
I don’t know what may be happening in other parts of the world as I type this sentence.
We all have many things we know nothing, or very little, about. We don’t, and can’t, know everything there is to know. I, personally, am glad about this, because it means that there is always some new field to study, something new to discover.
